How to access Crown Market

Never opened Crown before? Six steps. No filler. Each one tells you when to stop.

This is a checklist. It assumes you can install a program and that is it. Each step has a stop point. If a step will not finish, stop and read the matching page instead of winging it.

Step 1. Install Tor Browser.

Get it from torproject.org and check the signature. No third-party Tor wrappers. A clearnet VPN is not a substitute.

Step 2. Set the slider to Safest.

Click the shield, pick Safest. Crown works without JavaScript, so you lose nothing.

Step 3. Bookmark this page.

Bookmark this directory, not an onion. The list here changes on rotation. A bookmarked onion goes stale.

Step 4. Copy a mirror.

The Crown profile lists three. Copy the Primary, paste it into Tor, wait. If a check page shows up, clear it.

Step 5. Make an account.

Use a username and password you have used nowhere else. Save both in a password manager. Turn on two-factor as soon as you are in.

Step 6. Fund the account.

Crown takes Bitcoin and Monero, so pick either one. The deposit screen hands you a fresh address for the coin you choose. Send from a wallet you control. The deposits page covers wallets and how to confirm it posted.
